Helping hands - Peace on Earth
Purpose: Reflecting about our role contributing to create Peace on Earth, as well as wondering about the action of the Spirits who work on it.
Age: 7 to 12
What we will need
- White paper sheets (letter size)
- A big round piece of resistant paper with world's map sketch (made by the children or brought ready)
- Paint, pens, colored pencils and other painting materials
- Scissors
- School glue
- Glitter glue
- A hand pattern, cut out from recycled transparency film or radiography
What we gonna do
- Hand the white sheets to children. Using pencils or pens, ask them to draw the contour of their hands.
- Closing their eyes, they'll be invited to visualize our planet, its journey through the space, every nice places on surface living in great and deepful peace, with no wars, with dialogue instead of fights... (A CD with sounds of Nature could help the imagination at this moment.)
- With open eyes, each child will write or draw inside the hand contour the thoughts and feelings he or she had. The hands contour will be cut out.
- One by one, they'll glue the hands to the map, but talking about his work first.
- Tell them that the hand pattern and the glitter glue will be used to add shimmer tranparent helping hands. Whose hands are these?... Ask them what do the Spirits do to create peace on Earth.
